Jean Nicolas Arthur Rimbaud was a French poet known for his transgressive and surreal themes and for his influence on modern literature and arts, prefiguring surrealism.
I started by studying his poem "Romance" which he wrote at the early age of 18. I tried to sense the experience that he wanted to convey through the poem. The poem was based on his real-life experiences in Paris, where he ran off, alone.
I then tried to associate with the experience sensed in the poem and create it by collecting objects which had that romantic value to me. Again, romance is a very vast term that is difficult to confine in a few words. It is something that changes its meaning from person to person. I focused on everyday romance with objects from my life.
Later, I, along with Lohitha and Nishad (partners), created the experience by creating a space with the objects that we had collected so far.
